Integrative Studio/Seminar (Week 1)

1/8/2019

Integrative Seminar – Ms Kanika Sharma

Integrative Studio – Ms Prarthana Patil

This was our 1st week of Integrative Seminar and Studio. Both are different but interconnected with each other.

During the Integrative Seminar we were taught the importance of the reasons behind “why”. Our class was mostly surrounded by the word ‘reflection’, which also helped us in writing our blogs. We all had discussion on reading, and how necessary it is for us to read. We were told by our professor to write on the following writing styles of prose such as ‘7 word story’, ‘280 word tweet’, ‘haiku’, and ‘limerick’.

In our Integrative Studio, we were shown the comic series: Calvin and Hobbes. She explained us how the writer has balanced his innocence with his level of maturity which is more than his age. We were given a task to complete 25 boxes (4 inch by inch) using lines and dots on specific topics such as ‘my happy place’, ‘thought when i look out of the window’, ‘feeling that describes my relationship with my best friend’, ‘my state of mind every morning’, ‘my feeling when i come to school today’. Before this we did a quick activity where we had to express our emotions in the same way using dots and lines only, so that it is easier for us to understand the task better.
