In today’s class we discussed first chapter of Metamorphosis. Metamorphosis means transformation and the main the character of the book, vermin is an insect. We also discussed about the author of this book, and life of Franz Kafka. His relationship with his father, he was involved with other women but never got married and was an outsider. Other than that we also discussed about the themes and metaphors.

In our studio class, we wrote attributes about ourselves and then one line metaphors based on them. Our professor also checked and marked us on 25 3D boxes made by us individually and wrote 5 points we observed after taking a look what other made and what we made, so that we can understand what were we lacking. Metamorphosis is full of metaphors and their importance. We did this activity to understand ourselves through metaphors and what metaphors really stand for. We were told to write simple metaphors and no need to complex, creative, fancy. Those metaphors should express it to other person who doesn’t know me.
