Studio and Seminar SEM 2 (WEEK 5)

In seminar class, today we were told to write six chapters as our first draft. It was very difficult for me to think and write because I am not that creative thinker when it comes to writing. But after brainstorming and talking to few people, searching on the Internet. I got some ideas OHKMz aukuk UK French word which means old. I separated my six chapters in different aspects of my city few of them are about people the architecture and the environment/weather. My first chapter of my city would basically give a whole view of my city and few elements from other five chapters so then it can be connected later. Our professor told us to write six chapters as our first draft and show it to her so that we can get our ideas checked and can work on it further. I wrote few lines in the class. The book ‘invisible cities’ help me a lot to write my first draft as I am not confident in my writing. Also as I skipped my previous seminar class is what it was difficult for me to understand what I had to do and how and now because I know what I have to do I’ll take me a little bit of time to write all my six chapters correctly. I don’t want to hurry up as I want to take risk not have Real life structures in my city. Experimenting with creativity will take time and effort.

In my studio class, we started the class while discussing about memories. The first question that was asked in the class was ‘what do they do to us?’
I believe memory Is something that stays forever, it makes us remember things and our past experiences. Our imagination is based on memories to a certain extent. They make us emotional!Make us learn from our mistakes and also influence our future actions in the same way. Memory is something which is difficult to break away. I can retain from what I know and Re-collect. The reason why we draw everything as it is is because we are taught the way a tree looks like and it’s difficult to imagine something unique or something which we have never seen before because it’s not the way we have seen it but it’s the way we are told it to be seen as. I think it was a very important factor to talk about as in seminar class we learn about making the same thing in different ways. This time imagination plays a very important role in our project. Imagination makes us different from others.
We used tracing sheets to make six layers from our drawings for our project and was also told to make a clean white 5 square cube. After tracing all lower layers we were told to find negative and positive space in our drawings. Specially I was told to give more detailing in my drawings even though it was good enough but as a single layer it was very basic. So I decided to add more elements in my drawing.
